The Christian Drama Movie 'Courageous' Reviewed

The drama movie Courageous was shown to the public as a story about police officers who lead uphill struggle with their roles as policemen and fathers at home. This Christian drama movie is from Sherwood Pictures, the same production who brought 'Facing the Giants' and 'Fireproof' around the world. Courageous movie promotes a biblical message which is quite clear and good as well, but its delivery from a critical point is weakened by dialogue and some rookie acting.

The Courageous in one minute – Police officers Nathan Hayes, Shane Fuller, Adam Mitchell and David Thomson are people with high level of confidence and are very focused on their job as they serve to protect their community. At the end of the day, when this people are finished with their job as police officers, they need to face their biggest challenge in life – fatherhood. Being a good father does not count only when some tragedy strikes, but the police officers are tested through faith in God as well. When life becomes very bad and secrets are released, they must come closer to their families and God, in order to survive.

The God and Bad In Courageous This is a story with lasting purpose and real heart. Maybe it is a little predictable, but it does declare biblical teaching on the essential part of the fathers in the family and analyze the themes of betrayal, redemption, forgiveness and grief. All these messages may be understood differently from the viewers and not like the real message of the producers. There is also too much dialogue which divert attention from the action in the Courageous. Rated PG-13 for some drug content and violence scenes, Courageous is not movie that little kids should watch, but teens and adults will be fine seeing it. The movie is clean of foul language, but still does include some violent scenes.

Courageous is a Christian film worth supporting. It has weaknesses, but still provides strong message that will speak to the hearts of viewers.

  1. Nicely produced, but the converted are more likely to be impressed than the skeptical.

  2. A fantastic movie, it's emotional, funny, sweet, and will keep you hooked until the very end, it's in my opinion a must see experience, and the only reason I'm not giving it a perfect 10 is because it ends way too soon.
